| I feel like I am following the diet to the letter and have lost very little weight. I eat not fruit and no sugar or alcohol. I eat at least 1 snack a day. I follow the food list guidelines. I am 2 days away from two weeks and have only lost 3 lbs. What could I be doing wrong? | ||||||||||

| 3 pounds is a lot of fat---so you are having success b/c you're losing. Just keep it up--and make sure you're eating enough so your metabolism doesn't slow down, and you should continue to lose---and you could add in some exercise | ||||||||||

| Hey... How much do you have to lose?... Have you had enough water?... Were you eating enough calories (and not too many?)... This plan is pretty unpredictable...but don't be discouraged, any plan works if you stick with it!... 3lbs is great, how are you feeling?...Do you feel as if you have more energy?...Are you less bloated?...Those are all great perks of the plan too!!!... | You've lost 3 pounds! YAY for you! :joy: I don't know what you weighed to begin with, but if you have little to lose then you're doing very well. Each person will lose at different rates. I know that I didn't gain all my weight in a few weeks and I'm not going to lose it in a few weeks. Losing weight is a marathon and not a sprint. At least, if you want to lose it AND keep it off. You're eating good food and lowering your saturated fats. You're keeping your blood sugar levels even. You're staying away from refined flours and sugars and eating whole foods. You're not eating junk foods. In other words, you're getting healthier and losing weight along the way. | Were you eating low carb/low sugar before beginning this diet? The people who lose the most weight on Phase 1 are the people that ate the most sugar and carbs, so maybe your eating habits weren't that bad to begin with. I agree with everyone that 3 pounds in 2 weeks is great! On Phase 2 you will not lose a bunch of weight quickly but you will have slower weight loss that is steady if you stick with the plan. ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/showthread.php?t=355 Guess you have to figure out if you are looking for a quick fix or a long-term solution. This is a long-term solution diet. You also mentioned you are only having one snack a day. Maybe you should bump that up to the recommended snack between breakfast & lunch, snack between lunch and dinner and snack after dinner. Maybe you aren't eating enough calories and your body is in starvation mode? Read the sticky's on these forums and maybe they will help guide you.
