Default Questions regarding beans and healthy fats

Hi everyone,

I had a couple of quick newbie questions. I have so far lost 7 pounds in 6 days, so I'm losing really fast, but I want to make sure I am doing this diet right. The book is a bit vague, so I figured I'd ask the experts.

1. My wife made roasted chick peas last night. When they cook down, they shrink quite a bit. I ate a whole can today between my two snacks. Is that too many beans for phase 1?

2. For breakfast, I have been having 1/2 an avocado with my eggs. For lunch, I use a lot of olive oil dressing on my salad. For dinner, my wife cooks our veggies in olive oil, and I put a little smart balance light on top. Is this too many good fats and oils?

Thanks in advance!

1. The recommendation is 1/2 cup per serving, but you can have multiple servings in a day and that would be before roasting. Most cans of beans are usually about 3 servings, but you can measure how cups are in yours the next time you make some.

2. The meal model sticky topic recommends 1 teaspoon for breakfast, 1 tablespoon for lunch and 1 tablespoon for dinner. 1/3 of an avocado = 1 tblsp per the food list. (also a sticky topic)

Those are the standard guidelines. The SB process is more about finding out what works for you so it's really hard to say one way or another if those are too much for you. Might be fine for you and too much for someone else. If you are staying satisfied, enjoying what you are eating and losing weight, then it's probably fine for now.
