    Smile Phase 1 support group

A few years back, when I first did South Beach, I found myself in the middle of a wonderful group of people who would log on daily with a progress report of their menu's, successes...etc etc. I would like to start another group like that. I am starting phase I today and would like some buddies to keep me on track, give encouragement and just basically so that we can all know we are in the same place.
    Anyone interested ??

    Hi Cynthia!

I already completed phase one, but I'm extending it another two weeks because I'm not happy with the amount I lost. I think it was a vitamin I was taking, because I stopped taking it and the weight has been melting off since then. I started at 235.4 on April 7th and Tuesday will be the end of my third week on phase one. As of today, I'm down 8.4 pounds. At the end of my official phase one, I was only down 5 pounds. I lost all of that in the first week. The second week I didn't lose anything, but that's the week I started taking vitamins. The vitamin I ended up kicking out was selenium. I discovered that it's mostly yeast and corn starch! Whoops!! lol. I know that's got to be what stopped my weight loss, because I never once cheated, and I exercise daily.

Anyway, I'm rambling on. I'd definately love to be in your support group and if you need anyone to talk to, I'm here. I'm not an expert, but I've survived almost three weeks on the beach.

    Good luck with phase one!

    Mandee,

WOW...I had read another post about Selenium...was that you ??
Anyway, I have done SB before and I know it is a great WOE but you know, life gets in the way and before you know it, your heavy again.
Im at 272 now and I have officially started again this morning...
I made egg salad thi morning with LF mayo and lots of celery and onions. It was tasty at the time, but I've just returned from playing tennis and the onions have been with me all day so far !!!
Im having a large tossed salad for lunch with chick peas in it and dinner will be grilled shrimp and asparagus with a sliced tomato salad...
Im just trying to wait out the coming headaches !!!

I'll write again soon...hope we get more people...

I have never tried chick peas. Are they good? I guess I'll have to try them sometime.

lol. Yes, that was me that you saw griping about selenium. I was so mad when I found out what was in it. I really do think it's what screwed up that whole week for me. Oh well. I'm glad I figured it out when I did instead of continuing to take it.

    Hi Cynthia and Mandee

I would love to join you in a daily check-in. I have started SB a few times with good success, but find it hard to stick with it. I love the food and feel good when I stay with it. I think checking in with some others will help

Our son is getting married in August and I want to be thinner by then. I am 185 now and would love to be able to achieve 150 .

I'm having a scrambled egg and tomato juice for breakfast. I have lots of raw veggies in the fridge, ready to eat AND, big bonus, our asparagus is coming strong in the garden so I have fresh asparagus.

I am so jealous! I thought about starting asparagus this year in the garden, but I wasn't ready for the two year commitment before getting a harvest. Kind of silly since I will be wishing I did it next year. Enjoy the fresh asparagus for me too.

I tried growing asparagus last year and they grew all wild !!!
I have better luck with tomatoes and peppers...
Anyway, how is everyone fairing ??
I slipped up a bit yesterday at a party...
I haven't quite yet mastered going to parties where there isn't much SB food to choose from...

Ahhhhhhhh !!!! and summer is around the corner...

Our lovely asparagus patch was already established when we moved here My brother tried starting a patch and had no luck either.......I don't know what the trick to starting it fresh is.

I have been doing good this week. I grilled a bunch of chicken breasts and always have a huge tub of salad greens in the fridge. As long as I don't have to go out for the day I can stick to it just fine I love how my belly slims down with just a few days on SB!!
