Default I'm not hungry...

I just started SB yesterday and I just found the phase 1 meal model located here as a sticky. It states 1/2 cup veggies for breakfast, 2 cups for lunch, and 2 cups for dinner minimum. I am usually not very hungry and have to force myself to eat regularly throughout the day, so how I am supposed to eat that much. Do I eat til full or force myself to eat the minimum? Can anyone tell me where that is located in the book? Thanks in advance....

Veggies for breadfast was the hardest for me. What I do is I have Tomato juice with my breakfast. I have been doing this so long it no longer seems like breakfast without it. I also eat a lot of salads for lunch, not everday but a lot of days. I make sure I load them with lots of stuff. I use pieces of deli ham or turkey, shredd cheese, sunflower seeds, sometimes I fry an extra piece of turkey bacon in the morning to crumble in it or boil and egg. The vinegrette recipe in the SB book is wonderful. Makes for a very satisfying lunch.

I'm not sure that was in the book, but those meal models were released by the official SBD online site as part of their recommendations for how to develop your own meal plans. I'd say to try and keep things in relative proportions to those and eat less overall of everything or try to make your snacks more substantial and try for 4-5 small meals throughout the day. The goal is to keep your blood sugars more stable throughout the day to prevent hunger pangs, but it sounds like that may not be an issue for you.

Also loss of appetite is often a symptom of ketosis, so make sure you get all your good carbs in with the allowed amounts and types of dairy and beans since you may be cutting back on veggies which are your other source of good carbs in P1.
