Default Adding fats...

Soooo, most mornings I have scrambled eggs (2) and a slice of turkey bacon, or mock oatmeal (1/2 c ricotta, 1 egg, 1 packet splenda, cinnamon and vanilla for flavor) - how would I add a fat to these meals?? Also, I will not eat margarine - it is just not acceptable in my book, so could I use just a bit of real butter. I am not opposed to the ICBINB spray either! I am doing okay with fats otherwise - I use SB italian dressing on salads, use mayo in my tuna and chicken salad, and sautee in olive oil. Thanks- Amy

Good question!

You can get more ideas from other folks, but for one thing, you can cook your eggs in some oil. You can saute a bit of chopped bell peppers, onion, garlic, etc, and have them in your eggs. It's yummy! You might want to try out a few different SBD-friendly recipes, like different types of fritattas. There are lots of breakfast recipes that use a little oil. There're so many recipes out there!

At first it seemed weird, but now I use olive oil for almost every fat. It does such a good job of keeping me from being hungry all day, that now I actually add a tsp to my regular oatmeal if I'm not cooking something else! It gets nice & creamy & tastes great, believe it or not! (Some fat really helps me in the morning, but you know it is optional.)

Butter wouldn't be good because of the saturated fat. If you're interested, there are soft margarines made from olive or canola oil. They should say on the label, "No Trans Fat".

ICBINB, lightly sprayed for flavor, is counted as a condiment.
