| I was so good for 2 weeks and reall saw the difference, but I have had an emotional couple of days and I am turning to food again - I just ate like 15 ritz crackers - definitly not on my diet! I feel really discouraged riht now and I just need to get back on track, so I feel good again. I should be able to run tomorrow, but that will be my first workout since Saturday. I am having some job issues and the event Saturday is really stuck in my head (near drowning of an acquaintance). Sorry to ramble on - just feeling a little cruddy! Amy | ||||||||||

| Amy, This must be really hard to deal with. It might help if you talk with someone who's a good listener about what that event was like for you, & all your different feelings then & now. And all the different things you might be thinking about, like maybe about life, loss, & death. Those things are bound to come up when something like that happens. Sometimes it REALLY helps to talk about things like that. If you needed to, you could find a counselor-type of person to listen to you. So because of all the stress you already have since that event, it's much harder to deal with job stresses. You started out work this week really high on your stress scale, so other stressors are harder to deal with. ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/south-beach-diet-forums-phase-1/831-just-needng-some-support.html As far as SBD, we all get off course. That's fine. Notice how lousy you feel, physically & emotionally, when you eat that crappy stuff. Does it really help to eat it or does it actually just make you feel worse? Do your best to eat the right foods again whenever you can. If you still feel like you need to keep overeating, eating low-glycemic foods at least wouldn't throw your body so out of balance. Don't worry, you'll get back on track. As much as you don't feel like it, do SOME exercise, any exercise. It helps SO much with stress! Hang in there, Sweetie. :Hug1: How's your acquaintance doing? | ||||||||||

| Nancy- Thank you so much for your kind words and support... Our friend is doing better - they were taking him off the ventilator and starting to bring him out of the medically induced coma, he is breathing better on his own, which is excellent. As for work, my hubby is being amazingly supportive, as are my friends, so I am making it through. I just always try to survive on my own, and then fall flat on my face - I need to be good about asking for help. I may take your advice and talk with a counselor if this funk is still here next week. School gets out next Friday and I'll have some time off, which should help! I plan on getting a run in this afternoon, so that will help! Thanks again- Amy | ||||||||||

| Glad your better Amy and back on track. I'm an emotional eater, and I find when I get that way if I sick to proteins instead of carbs I don't eat as much. Ill grab hard boiled eggs, string cheese, and I don't seem to eat as much. :Hug1: | ||||||||||
