Default New Squeaky Clean Phase One Challenge

Mindy did the last one and I'm sure I won't be able to do as well as she did with the challenge, but here goes ......

Mindy's on vacation for 2 weeks and she suggested that I start up another phase one challenge while she's gone. So, how about it? Anyone want to join up for it?

????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/south-beach-diet-forums-phase-1/840-new-squeaky-clean-phase-one-challenge.html
I think we'll start this at the beginning of the week, on Sunday June 4th. So, clean out your pantry and stock up on some phase one friendly SBD foods and show up in this thread on Sunday. Please check in once per day and let everyone know how you're doing. You can post your menus, weight loss, anything to keep us motivated and focused along the way. Ask all your phase one questions here also.

I'll be joining everyone in phase one because I've had a few stumbling blocks and I need to do a super clean phase one and get rid of these cravings. :Catfight:

See you on Sunday!

Talking Day One of Phase One

Starting weight: 225 :hide: (Been messing up lately which explains the need to return to phase one)

Breakfast:
1 serving of Metamucil (15 min. before meal)
2 egg white western omelet w/ gr. peeper and onion
2 strips turkey bacon (blotted with paper towel)
1.5 T. salsa
2 mugs decaf coffee w/ ff half & half and sweetened w/ sf caramel Da Vinci syrup

Mid-morning snack:
1 stalk celery stuffed w/
1 T. low fat Philly cream cheese (chive and onion flavor)
6 oz. V-8 juice

Lunch:
Ham and 2% cheese roll up
1 t. Cilantro mayo (recipe: http://www.sbdbb.com/showthread.php?t=48)
????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/showthread.php?t=840
sm. salad w/ 1 T. SBD Italian dressing

Got up at 7 a.m. and I've been staying very busy. Been cooking up foods to have during the week, like boiled eggs and some pinto beans. I also cut up some raw veggies to keep in the fridge.

Already took a walk this morning, just a mile and a half to the store and back. I will walk again this afternoon. It's a rainy, cloudy day today. Not my favorite thing. :cloud:

I will check back in with the rest of today's meals. I hope to see someone else join in the challenge. A good indication of how well you'll do in phase 2 relies on doing a really clean phase one, which I didn't do. :Bang: Some people just need to learn things the hard way, I guess. That's me!

Speaking of learning things the hard way, I'm starting to think I may learn that way the rest of my life! It does work, though, as long as we don't give up!

You're getting off to a great fresh start! Way to go, exercising and preparing your foods today for the week ahead. Those are the things that work.

(In fact, those are the things I SHOULD be doing right now!) :Jump Rope:

Nope! Never surrender, never give up!

Mid-afternoon snack:
1 oz. peanuts

Dinner:
1 chicken breast, maybe 4 ozs. (marinated in Italian dressing and grilled)
1 cayote squash (first recipe here http://www.sbdbb.com/showthread.php?t=557)
1 deviled egg

Dessert:
1 Lime zest ricotta cream

Went for another walk and did 3.5 miles this time. Been drinking gallons and gallons of weak decaf tea throughout the day. I've never been very much of a water drinker and the SBD web site says to drink when you're thirsty and that coffee and tea count. That's good news for me! I haven't had even one soda pop all day, but I think I will have one glass before bed tonight.

One day almost down ....... only 13 more to go.

Welcome!

I was afraid it was just going to be me rambling on and on in here! LOL I bet that could get very boring very quickly.

You're menu's looking really good, getting in your protein, veggies and fats. Skateboarding and surfing are two things I've never done. Well, for one thing ..... I can't swim. And I'm terrible at keeping my balance. But I would like to learn how to inline skate. First I need to wrap myself in some bubble wrap.

Default Day Two of Phase One

Weight this morning: 225.5

The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.
-Chinese proverb

Okay, no one said that this was going to be easy.

Exercise:
walking 3.29 miles for 388 calories burned

Breakfast:
1 serving Metamucil
2 eggs-fried over med.
2 turkey sausage links
1.5 c. decaf coffee w/ sweetener and ff 1/2 & 1/2

Mid-morning snack:
1 stalk celery
1 part skim string cheese

Lunch:
1 serving Metamucil
1 left over chicken breast w/ 1 oz. mozzarella cheese
????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/showthread.php?t=840
1/2 small zucchini, 1/2 small yellow squash, 1/2 yellow pepper, 1/2 red pepper, and 1 slice onion sautéed in 1 T. olive oil, seasoned salt, pepper and Mrs. Dash
1/2 c. kidney bean salad (home made)

Oh, I ate too much lunch! I feel stuffed. I need to learn to eat slower. I should have either skipped the bean salad or only eaten half the veggies. But they were soooo good.

I'm still trying to stay busy, busy, busy. I made some flax and sunflower seed crackers. I'm making sun tea. Still haven't had a pop so far. I'm feeling kind of tired today from lack of the caffeine in the soda though. Blech! I don't like feeling tired.

It's almost time for another snack and I don't think I can get it down. I might have to delay it for awhile because I'm just too full! Later ......
