Hi everyone!

I'm been searching this sight for over a week now and I cant tell you happy I was to find it! It has sooo much information to help me get started, plus a very welcoming and supportive bunch of people. I begin SB tomorrow. I go home tonight after work (Garbage night) and get rid of all my "bad foods" so I won't be tempted. I am a single mom with two girls. I'm not sure how happy they will be to have the junk gone, but I give them the new 100 cal packs so I will keep them for them (I don't like them anyway lol).

I just want to clarify that we can have 2 cups of Dairy (including fat free milk) on p1? Does that include Cheese? And Sugar free jello/pudding isn't until p2?

I have lost already 22 lbs from Atkins and Weight Watchers, but I think I add too many bread points in WW and I didn't like Atkins because I love eating fruit. I am now currently 166.5 and would like to get to 130. My strongest obsticle I will need to overcome is weighing myself. I have an obsession on weighing myself everyday...I try not to, but only make it to every other day. My goal is to whine myself down to only doing it once a week, same in in the AM...but I know that will be a big challenge. I've always weighed myself, just to be curious, even while I was PG with both my daughters.

Thank you for the great site and I look forward to starting my journey with all of you!!!

Tracy

Welcome Tracy.

I bet you're going to love this way of life!

Yes, 2 cups dairy (fat free or low-fat milks, yogurts, soy milks). The guidelines you need are on the Stickies at the top of the forums. Be sure to read & keep referring to those Stickies.

Hard, cottage, ricotta cheeses are counted in protein group, not dairy.

OK sweet treats like SF jello are listed on a Stickie. Puddings not until Phase 2.

How 'bout putting your scale out of view somewhere?

P.S. About your girls...I'm sure my life would have been much happier if I had learned about this way of eating when I was young!

Welcome Tracy! :cloud:

I'm sure you'll do fine, and your girls will adjust too i'm sure. Like Nancy said, I wish I'd learned to eat properly when i was young..they may not appreciate it now..but will thank you for it one day.

I used to weigh myself every day (sometimes more than once) I just weight myself for the first time in 2 months! getting out of that habit was very free'ing. I went from once a day..to once a week, to once a month... If you put the sclale out of site like nancy said, it really helps

Thank you for the welcome!!

I've printed out all the stickies related to P1 to start me off!!

As for the scale....I like the idea you went from once a week, to once a month....I think I will try my hardest to weigh every Friday morning, then put away till the next Fri. Hopefully that will help me!

Talk to you tomorrow,

Tracy
