| Oscar Meyer does these pouches of precooked chicken (fajita or grilled) with the SB logo on them. My walmart has them for $2.50 and the entire bag has like 250 calories for a nice size. They also have they're shaved turkey and roast beef (Walmart $2) that are both like 95-96% fat free. Im not sure this is okay for phase 1 but it seems to be and the thin slices make it easy to eat slowly. Please advise if these are no-nos. ANyway these are two of my convenient foods and wondering of any other ideas that are easy prepakaged to make life simpler? | ||||||||||

| On the shaved meats, you'll also want to check the labels for added sugars. You won't want to buy any that read something like "honey roasted" or "brown sugar cured" on them. ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/south-beach-diet-forums-phase-1/971-convenient-foods.html A convenience food that I like to get is the individual packages of string cheese. A lot of other things I'll divide into single serving portions and put them in snack size baggies. Kraft makes SB whole wheat crackers that's in single serving bags and packages of cookies that are just 2 cookies to a package. I wish you could go in a convenience store and get a single serving of nuts that were dry roasted and not salted, but I haven't seen them anywhere around here. I almost gag on the other kind now with all that oil and salt on them. It's funny how your tastes change when you start eating healthier. I noticed that they make a sugar free/fat free pudding now in the refriderator case and they're only 60 calories. Not bad tasting, imo. I like the sf jello cups, also. These are some of the things that I take to work in my lunch. | |||||||||||

| I appreciate the shaved meat info because I was concerned. Ive learned to flip over packages and read before dropping things into my cart. The only dry roasted nuts I found were peanuts. Instead I got Planters Nut*rition almond, cashew, macadamia blend with the SB approval logo. Says lightly salted and doesnt mention dry roast. Im confused by your salted comment - why would you prefer unsalted? I thought salt was a non issue. Is it a water retention/bloat thing? | ||||||||||

| Regarding the oily nuts (did I just say tha Expectations are a factor as well. I was a diet snob. Beside lowfat milk and diet soda, Id go hungry before eating diet, low fat, low sugar anything. Before the diet, threw away sugarfree jello puddng bought by mistake after tasting it. Now remembering the taste, it wasnt that bad and will revisit it. Mustard too - I would never eat it but have rediscovered it now. | ||||||||||

Do you do well with sticking to the allowed serving sizes with nuts? Sometimes I find that they're so good I can't stop eating them. | |||||||||||
