Default Thinking of restarting Phase I

I am thinking of restarting Phase I. I did so well on phase I and even though I have been good and watched things on phase II the loss just has not lasted.

I feel awful and muscles ache and bloated ect. This all started on Saturday when I added low fat/ low carb wheat tortillas to my diet instead of the oats I was eating (I thought the oats were too high in carbs and calories) and I also added milled flax seed for the fiber, omega-3, phytoestrogenes...

Well the next day (sunday) the scale went up like 3 pounds but I thought it was from eating at my fav resturant the night before but the weight has not gone down and I am weak and achey and had to make myself work out it finally dawned on me that I may have allergy to wheat or flaxseed.

I just finised a dried fruit binge because I was so mad about this.

Not sure if I should start back on phase I or just continue with phase II minus the wheat and flax seed.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Continue on with Phase 2. There is an adjustment period for your body to get used to eating the starches again. Don't worry about oatmeal being high in carbs. This is NOT a low carb regimen.

When I hit Phase 2 I stalled and gained some weight back but that was only a temporary bloat that lasted a couple of weeks, then the scale started moving again.

If you feel uncomfortable after eating the wheat then maybe you do have an allergy, it is common. But flax could also be another culprit. Flax bloats me out and constipates me for a day or two then you get the opposite effect.

I can always guarantee that I will be up on the scale after a serving of flax. But of course that is temporary.

I suggest staying away from the low carb bread products. Most of them contain soy which MAY be your problem. A lot of people are allergic to soy. I am one of them and I get awful stomach cramps, bloating and muscle aches from it so that could be what you are experiencing.

Why are you trying to eat low carb grains? The purpose of SB is to get you to eat the RIGHT carbs. The RIGHT carbs are whole grains. Soy adds fiber, true, but if you eat the RIGHT whole grains, they contain their fiber. NO MORE FRANKENFOODS!!!

Re read the information on bread products in the Phase 2 forum. These are the stickies at the top about transitioning into Phase 2. If you make the right food choices and stay the course you will get back on track and will start LOVING what you are eating!!!

Continue in phase two. If you find a food that gives you trouble, then try something else. But I really wouldn't go back to phase one.
