Default Ice Cream?

I really want some ice cream!!! Not a lot, just some to taste!!! Are there any SB approved ice creams around? Also I thought I saw somewhere on here or maybe in the book that popcorn on the stove top is ok as long as it is popped in canola or olive oil. I was just at the grocery store and bought some white popcorn and wanted to check here before I have it as a snack.

Thanks!!!

For phase two:
Quote:
Popcorn, 3 cups popped

Air popped
Microwave, plain, no trans fats
Cooked stove-top with canola oil
I don't know of any approved ice creams for this plan. They just mention the sugar free Popsicles and fudgebars.

I did find this recipe for something that you can make.

Strawberry Buttermilk Ice
Serves 2

Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar substitute
1/2 cup water
1 1/4 cups quartered strawberries (about 1 1/2 cups whole berries)
1/2 cup buttermilk

Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the sugar substitute and water. In a blender or food processor, blend the strawberries until smooth. Add the strawberries and buttermilk to the sugar substitute mixture and stir until well-combined. Pour into a freezer-safe container. Freeze overnight. Remove from the freezer 30 minutes before serving.

Yes, there is. I don't know why it isn't mentioned on the SBD site. I guess I'd have to read the labels to find out why.

I've seen fat free/no sugar added ice creams in the stores. Blue Bunny makes some. It's been a long time since I bought any though. It seems to me that even just 1/2 a cup would be over the 75/100 calorie alloted for a sweet treat.

But I wonder if you could kind of get around that by calling it a sweet treat and your dairy allowance?

They probably don't want you to buy the s/f f/f icecream because once you start eating it you can't stop. Beleive me I have tried that too.

Default Thanks!

Thanks Luvs for that recipe, I'll give it a try!

I was wondering myself while I was in the store yesterday if the fat free/sugar free ice cream was ok but I wanted to check here first. With all the other products SB is coming out with, ice cream should be one of them! LOL!!

Default I have found it! actual ice cream at a ice cream shop :)

'Sinless sweet cream ice cream at Cold Stone\r\nits made with splenda, and is non-fat. \r\nof course it has calories, but its definatly fine for that occasional ice cream craving.\r\n\r\nI get an immitation of their \"health nut\" mixtures, because they normally use regular peanut butter...which is a no no. \r\nI ask for either pecans, walnuts, or almonds \r\nand fresh banana(they use like a half)\r\nits cruchy, fruity, and sooo amazing.'

PB Cup Ice Cream....P1....Really Easy and Really Yummy!!!

1 SF Fudgsicle
1 T Natural Pb
1/2 cup Lite Cool Whip

Microwave pop and pb for about 30 seconds. Mix really well until no PB lumps. Add in cool whip; mix again. Freeze for 30 minutes. It is better than ice cream.

***Warning*** Don't freeze to long cus then it taste like freezer burn. The first time I made it I left it in the freezer over night and the nexzt day it was so gross.

I hope you all enjoy!\

~Alison

Default Blue Bunny

Blue Bunny has several options of sugar free/fat free ice creams and bars. You just have to be mindful of the labels, because some are better than others. They are very good.
