Hi I restarted phase 1 after completely jumping off the deep end over the holidays!!! I just started phase 2 yesterday and am so happy to see my oatmeal again!!! I don't have tons to lose but it's weight I've not been able to lose. I need to lose 15 more pounds.

I do have a question for you. When you are reintroducing carbs and fruit, do you try one for a few days then try another or stick with one for the week? Do you do a carb (say oatmeal) for say 3 days then a fruit, or stick with oatmeal then change to english muffin or bread (whole grain of course)? The book is a little ambiguous about this, allows for individuality, but I'm a give me the rules and I'll follow them kind of person!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on your success!!!!

it all depends on how you burn your carbs & sugars I guess...I can tell a big change in my loss when I reintroduce these "treats"..lol...

I don't eat carbs with every meal...maybe have some for lunch one day, then one for dinner the next day...skip a day all togehter & then have some for breakfast & dinner the next day...I still want to see those weight loss results come flying at me, and if I eat carbs every day, with every meal, I can tell in my loss...

I guess I didn't really answer your question did I? In at nutshell, if your happy with your weight loss results, then eat your oatmeal every day if you want! If you feel like you have stalled out, skip it once in a while...did I help at all?

Default No Weight Loss in Phase 2 - Help!!!!

'Ive been doing phase 2 now for about 2 wks or more and I havent lost any weight. Lost 10 lbs on phase 1 - getting discouraged and looking for help from anyone! Only foods Ive reintroduced back are: 1 small apple, either whole wheat bread (1 slice) or whole wheat pasta, fat free/sugar free pudding. I rotate these foods and don\'t consume all in one day but I find Im at a standstill. The thought of going back to phase 1 is killing me - Can anyone help?'

I'm not an expert at this, but my first thought is to back up and try one of those items for several days in a row recheck for any craving problems. Make sure you're still consuming the veggies and water you need to.

Having said this I have heard it's not uncommon to not lose as rapidly or as regular on phase 2. I think I read somewhere not to panic until your loss is stopped for 4-6 weeks. Don't hold me to that, as I say I remember reading it in a thread somewhere.

Please don't be discouraged. Because this is a lifestyle change, you're body is becoming healthier everyday even if the scale doesn't show a loss!

also, watch the "whole wheat" bread & whole wheat spaghetti your eating...you need to find some "whole GRAIN" bread or "whole GRAIN" spaghetti.

Read the ingrediance label...if it says "enriched" flour (whole wheat or white) this is not good. It needs to say "whole wheat flour" or "whole grain flour"...any time the word "enriched" comes into play, it is bad....Find a bread that has at least 3g. of fiber/serving....and watch how may pcs. are in a serving too...I try to stick w/bread that has 3-6g./slice...the more, the better.

If your bread has less than 3g. of fiber/slice?...you may as well just eat white bread.

Hi all,

I just started Phase 2 this morning. I followed a recipe in the book and had oatmeal for breakfast. I added a medium banana. I did notice that I was hungrier sooner after eating then I was when eating my veggies and eggs, but I desperatly needed a change. I was getting sick of eggs. That is the only thing I plan on adding today to my plan. Tomorrow, I will try something else. The booka lso suggested that I have a pear for snack with Cow cheese. I am not sure if I will. The site suggests to add back gradually, but the book says add three fruits the first day. I am not sure what I will do, but I honestly have no craving for anything, other than a cup of coffee, which I did endulge in this morning. Frist cup of coffee in 2 weeks, only because when I cut all fruits, startches, and sugars, I didnt even allow myself splenda, but today I did. I honestly felt so much better taking all this stuff out. I am hesitant on adding it back, but I am ready for a change, so we shall see how it goes.

Ill keep ya posted. I am really glad there are others doing this to talk to along the way. Oh, and I lost 10.5 the first two weeks. YAH!!!

Smile Day 1 of Phase 2

This is my first day of phase 2, and I am really worried about starting it. I lost 12 pounds on phase 1. I think I just need some encouragement. I feel wonderful so far, but I need to lose at least 50 pounds. I am so afraid that I will add something in this phase, and it will trigger something in me that will make me go back to all of my old habits. Help.
