| What phase are the South Beach Diet products to be used in? The pizzas, meals, protein bars, meal replacement bars, cereals, 100 cal snack packs, etc? And how are they to be used? thanks. | ||||||||||

| 'The Kraft South Beach products have a phase key on the back, usually in the lower right hand corner. Most of the products are for phase 2 and 3, but the Kraft 2% cheeses are for phases 1, 2 and 3.' | |||||||||||

| IMO?? any time you can make your own food???? DO IT! Fresh foods are always going to be better for you than processed, even if they say SBD on it, fresh is always better. I use the SBD meals & stuff for when I don't have time...and even then, I usually pack some "real" snacks to have through the day, like veggies, cheeses & nuts. They are better than most diet foods, but nothing beats a meal you put together yourself and know EXACTLY what is in it. | |||||||||||

| Oh, I completely agree. Anytime you can prepare your own fresh foods, you should. And still read the labels, even if it is a SB product. Just this morning I realized that the Special K with Red Berries that I used to eat, is a better bet than the SB cereal. The Special K has less calories, fat and carbs. The only thing the SB has over the Special K is 4 more grams of protein per serving. | |||||||||||

| special K is never a good choice for SB. It isn't whole grain, it's puffed which raises it's GI and it has very little fiber. I wouldn't buy the SB branded stuff either as there are lots of other good choices in the marketplace. For most SB food decisions, we start with the ingredient list and then work to the nutritional panel. It's all about the ingredients! (And in the case of special k , the way it is processed.) | |||||||||||

| I've been using the SB High Protein Bars and the Granola for snacks, I've also used the bars for breakfast (I know, awful LOL) and I've noticed that Kashi is making a great deal of things that are SB-friendly. I'm eating the Kashi GO LEAN cereal and I love it! It's high fiber and high protein and I noticed yesterday that they make snack bars that are designed not to cause a spike in blood sugar, I believe they term it as "Optimized Glycemic Response"...It might just be fancy wording, but they're tasty! Except for the Oatmeal Walnut "ROLL!" they have. The Kashi Whole Wheat Thin Crust frozen pizzas are great too! I add some extra olive oil just be safe LOL. Now I've gotta work on the breakfast thing...eating something other than a bar lol... | ||||||||||
