| plain non-fat yogurt which is the only kind allowed in P1 will have in the range of 16-19 gms of sugar per 8 oz serving and is totally fine because they are the natural milk sugars. You can have up to 16 oz of this kind of yogurt in P1 (Assuming no other milk/dairy) and 2-3 cups in P2, again assuming this is your total dairy allowance and no milk. Once in P2, you can start to use artificially sweetened/flavored yogurts, but the serving size is limited to 6-8 oz only per day. Look for no added sugars, no HFCS for sweeteners and fat free I think is preferred. Naturally occurring sugars are in a lot of SB allowed foods, so you can't just go by the grams of sugar on the nutritional panel. You have to read the ingredients list and understand the relationship between the two. I'd avoid the "Carb Control" kinds of yogurts as well as they tend to microfilter the milk first to get the carbs out and they are in fact the good carbs we should be consuming to begin with. The one you found sounds like it might work although it might be too low in carbs. goldie there is nothing wrong with fructose as a sweetener in small quantities. It's actually a pretty low GI sweetener. Actually I don't believe in the great "HFCS" evil either. It's no different than table sugar in the way our bodies process it and so is no worse nor better than table sugar in something. Still doesn't make it particularly good for you, but it is not some great evil or cause of obesity by itself. No actual kind of causality has ever been proven other than by the sheer volumes that people consume. | |||||||||||

| Understand. That's just listening to your body which is a good thing!! Also, some don't understand there is a big difference between the sugar, fructose, and HFCS which is roughly 50% glucose and 50% fructose. (ratios depend on the formulation used, as two different formulations are produced commercially, a 42% fructose version and a 55% fructose version) | |||||||||||
