| I am wanting to make the cherry apple crisp recipe from the holiday cookbook. The recipe calls for whole grain pastry flour. I could only find whole wheat flour at Shop Rite. Will this be ok? Is it pretty much the same thing? Thanks, kelly | ||||||||||

| I did not know the answer to this, so I did a search. I found this website with the following information: pantry_flour,grains WHOLE WHEAT PASTRY FLOUR: Low-gluten flour milled from soft wheat with the bran included. It is sometimes labeled Whole Grain Pastry Flour. Do not confuse it with whole wheat flour. I sometimes use it instead of all-purpose flour when creating healthy baking recipes. In the absence of fat, it gives a more tender outcome. Keep tightly wrapped in the freezer. No need to thaw before using. Hope this helps! | |||||||||||
