Unhappy the holidays were the worst

So I have been on south beach since June and lost 45 lbs but the week of christmas and new years have been the worst for me and the hardest. I have never cheated so much. I am back on today and going to stick with it but for the first time in a long time its really hard again!

Default good for you and your decision

to begin again. It would be easier perhaps to stick your head in the sand and not recommit yourself. i just want to say "great" that you have chosen to do South Beach. I agree that there are a lot of food items that you have to say no to, but the results will be worth it! Hang in there!

45 pounds is so amazing! Don't beat yourself up too much over this little set back. Sounds like you are already back on the right track.
You certainly didn't gain back 45 lbs over the holidays, so you nipped it in the bud and only good things from here on in.
Good luck.

Andrea

It's always the worst week of the year for me as well. We visit my parent's and while we do eat OK, and I can eat some of "my" foods, it just isn't worth the battles to do my own thing while here. I really look forward to getting back home and getting back to "real" food and what I now consider "normal" food. It gets better when you get back on board! I just view this kind of "holiday" diet as an aberration now though. It's definately surviveable and you can recover from it by just gettinng back into the swing of things.
