| I'm relatively discouraged at the moment. Two stores visited over the last two days and neither carry anything other than instant or quick cook oats. What type of cereals are good to add to phase 2? At one time in my life I was a bread hound (couldn't get enough of the stuff). Found a place to get Ezekiel bread (forgot to check on oats while I was there) and have had a single slice in the morning with breakfast. Think I'm going to get tired of bread/toast faster than I tired of eggs!!!! | |||||||||||

| Kashi Go Lean and Good Friends are both pretty good and SB friendly per the original cereal guidelines. Uncle Sam's takes some getting used to and not sure I would eat it by itself, but is a good mix-in with those other two. General original guidelines are more than 8 gms of fiber and less than 8 gms of sugar and made from whole grains. Once the SB branded cereals were released and didn't meet their own guidelines, they relaxed the fiber to 5 gms or more. I think Nature's Path Optimum Slim works fairly well too, but it's pricey as most cereals are. I'm surprised you couldn't at least find regular old fashioned oats though. | |||||||||||

| I personally like Uncle Sam Cereal, although I can see why others may not. You should be able to find steel cut oats at a health food store, or perhaps a Walmart if you have one around. I get mine at a local Kroger. | ||||||||||

| I have eaten uncle sams and it does take a little getting used to but really is not bad. I usually will mix that with some vanilla flavored low fat yogurt. I also eat kashi go lean(not crunch too much sugar) and lately have been on a shredded wheat kick. I eat the original shredded wheat and it really does satisfy me. I work most mornings and i really don't have time to heat up oatmeat, I usually make a mess with it in our mini microwave on our unit. Honestly when I do have the oats, I get hungry and cravings later but not with the shredded wheat. | |||||||||||
