Default Hit a plateau and feeling frustrated

Hey All,

I'm stuck! I can't seem to break the 140 mark. Part of yesterday and today I've decreased my servings of bread. I may have been enjoying whole wheat bread too much. I also have gone to the gym three days in a row. I had missed about a week. It's just so hard to work out after an eight hour shift in the ER and my feet are throbbing. I have one more week of ER shifts and then hopefully this crap will be over and I can workout consistently.

Just venting
Blue

I was on a plateau for about a month and just kept doing what I was doing. Since then about a month ago down 12 lbs. I hear ya on too tired to exercise after working at the hospital all day. Some days I have to force myself to do it but once it's done I feel so much better. It also gives me a chance to vent my frustrations(I work icu ). So just keep it up, mix up your routine a bit, try a exercise class, try some strength training if you haven't already.

Thought I had hit a plateau as well. Have as far as weight is concerned but...

I can fit into my husband's sweat pants comfortably (don't worry he's not in them with me)...

This is a BIG achievement for me as they used to be to tight to move in.

Keep that in mind - that while the scale may have stopped your body hasn't. It is still working at refining the way you look and feel.

Keep it up and it'll pick back up all in good time

I too have plateaued. I have not broken the 160 mark but I am just keeping on with what I am doing.....I have had comments from people that I am looking very 'slender' so something must be happening and my clothes are loser on me......just about being patient although I feel your frustrations! I have been on phase 2 for 6 weeks.......don't lose faith, think of the big picture

Question also frustrated with a plateau

I have been on P2 for about 7 weeks now and have only lost about 3 pounds since I moved out of P1. I didn't lose any the first couple of weeks and then started inching down little by little, but now it seems to have stopped completely...or even gone back up a bit. I know I am smaller than when I started and have noticed a difference in my muscles, but I wish the weight would begin to go down again. I go to the gym 2-3 times per week for stregth and cardio (about 30 min of each on the same day) and try to fit in 1-2 more days of just cardio. It is frustrating that I seem to have just stopped or even gone up some. I am at least 20 pounds away from my goal, so I feel like I should be losing a little faster. I haven't changed my eating really-- I have 1-2 breads per day ( oatmeal and 1 more about 2-3 days per week) and usually 2 fruit servings, although some days it is only one. I eat a big salad almost every day at lunch or I don't get enough veggies. Supper is usually meat with one cooked veggie and some raw ones. Snacks are apple w/ peanut butter or yogurt (once a day) or string cheese. Any suggestions on what I could improve on?

My suggestion to get you going again would be what worked/works for me. That's the only experience I can share.

When I began, I wrote down everything I was going to eat the next day the night before. I had a plan. I weighed the things that I thought I might easily overdo on (like fats, nuts, and dairy). Then, the next day, I ate what I had written down and only what I had written down. No exceptions. I think we easily deceive ourselves about what we are really eating.

Truthfully, in the beginning, I thought this was a pain in the Z$$. But, I know myself and I know that I can easily lie to myself about the food. I did this for a good three months (a little longer, actually) before I felt strong enough in what I was doing to not have to write it down. I weigh myself every other week and I have lost every time. If there comes a week when I don't, I will be writing down my food again for a while. It's just what I have to do and I am willing to do it because the benefits sooo outweigh the effort!

If you really want this, you will find a way that works, but that's what worked for me...

no phase 1 is just for getting the cravings out of your system. I would only go back if you have not been following the plan and really went overboard with sweets ect. You will lose the majority of your weight in phase 2. Get exercising, maybe start a food journal so we can see why you are not losing.
