| Good Morning! I have been eating properly and have not cheated at all on Phase 2. I have chosen not to work in any bread or starchy products (yet) but am eating at least 2 fruits a day. I have been taking in some skim milk and have been trying to think what I could eaten yesteday to make my weight go up .8 of a pound. Is it normal for someone's weight to fluctuate that much on a weekend? I have not eaten anything off the plan. I am eating a couple of healthy fruits a day such as cantelope and an orange which fall into the low sugar category. I would appreciate opinions or comments. I expected a weight loss this morning but it was .8 up. Overall my weight loss for the amount of time I have been on the program has been good! Help!! Thanks!! | ||||||||||

| Honestly that amount is just noise in the signal and I wouldn't even worry about it. It could be something salty and water weight or a more instense workout and water weight, or monthly cyles and water weight, or a bit of constipation and solids weight or any number of things really. Remember that scales weigh EVERYTHING in your body at any point in time and are typically very variable on a short term basis. Long term trends are what count and it sounds like your long term trend line is still heading downwards overall! Also remember Red's Rule that weight loss is neither linear, predictable nor comparable! So "expecting" to see a loss kind of falls into the "prediction" category and it just doesn't really work that way very often. As a general rule of thumb, those I see with the greatest frustrations tend to be those playing the expectations game the most. Weight loss is not something you are "owed" for eating healthily and exercising. It still just kind of tends to happen whenever your body is ready to let some of it go and there often seems to be little correlation to "doing things right" and seeing those results on a scale. That was my experience anyway. | |||||||||||

| Red Rox, thanks and yes, you are so right!!! I know I, like others, should not be a slave to the scales. I can see it my face, arms and mid section the progress I have made and promised myself I would not jump on the scales every few days. Thanks for the reminder that progress is measured in many different ways and I need to just press forward!! I just want so badly the next 15-20 lbs to fall off, but I am 56, not 25 like I once was and need to remain patient. Thanks again! | ||||||||||
