Default Snacks on Phase 2

I guess I am getting into a rut with my snack choices. I have done well on Phase 1 and am taking in a fruit and a high fiber cereal and getting in salads and plenty of proteins with meals. I love nuts but don't want to overdo them, but they are so easy to grab. Is it still much preferred on Phase 2 to eat a protein snack vs. a fruit. I live in South Texas and the navel oranges right now are huge and very filling. I am eating one a day. I keep cheese on hand but my thinking is cheese contains animal fats and fruit and nuts do not. Should I get away from that mentality since cheese is considered a protein? It also is an easy snack. I would sure like to hear what others are snacking on between meals. Thanks!!

I think fruits are fine as snacks on P2, but they probably should have a protein and/or fat to go with them to help slow the conversion of fruit sugars to blood glucose. So some fruit with cheese or nuts is still probably a good idea. But try it by itself and see how you do with hunger levels afterwards. It might work fine for you that way. You won't know if you don't give it a try! As long as they are reduced fat cheeses that follow the guidelines, you should be fine.

Thanks..they all sound great. Not sure about the hummus I have never tried it. I do know I have been doing something right. My first month I have lost 10 lbs. so I am THRILLED to say the least. I am pressing forward and not trying to be in a hurry but just adjust to a newer thinner me and new eating patterns. I have about 12 more lbs to go and am just going to proceed with patience and diligence. Thanks again!

My favorite snack is celery with peanut butter or almond butter! I hate celery alone, but it's sooo good this way!

I love apples with natural peanut butter for a snack, but you have to be careful - it is really easy for me to overdo it on the peanut butter. Another great snack is roasted chick peas. The kind of remind me of corn nuts.
