| I am 56 and have lost 18 lbs, but have had a couple of "celebrations" in the last month or so and am trying not to beat myself up and go forward. I also have had a blood workup and my blood sugar has come down 20 points to a healthy range and my cholesterol has come down considerably. We have incentives as work to be healthy so I got $75 in gift cards for my hard work. I am still doing good but have about 7 lbs. to go. I think once a person has indulged, they think well maybe I can slip in a few alcoholic drinks or an ice cream sundae and get back on track. Not so!! That is what I am doing now..grasping those first thoughts that got me motivated in the first place to grit my teeth, dig my heels in and go forward w/out splurging, but it is tough. Any encouraging words are appreciated. Also, should I go back to Phase 1 for about a week to get the sugar and junk out of my system? Thanks! | ||||||||||

| I really think the question of whether or not to go back to P1 is really a personal choice. Personally I never wanted to go back to P1. Ever. So when I needed to tighten things up, that's what I'd do. Just run a tight P2 for awhile. I don't think it's really about getting anything "out" of your system at all. Your body takes care of that fairly quickly. I think it's likely more what you feel like you need mentally and emotionally to help you reset things and what you think gives you the best chance of getting back on track and long term success. For some P1 works well that way. I know for me it wouldn't have. I think you just really have to find what works for you! | |||||||||||

| Cool, thanks! Yeah..Phase 1 is pretty darn strict. I think just adhering to a tight Phase 2 I will get back into the swing of things. I read one of your old articles Red Rox yesterday explaining how crappy foods make you feel crappy..well, you hit the nail right on the head. While a person is eating something say like a piece of cake or pie..I mean "in the moment" it seems really luscious, but for me it is like falling off a building..I feel so low and horrible afterwards just like putting poison in my body. There is no comparison to how a body feels when you are eating healthy and sticking to the SB plan. As always, thanks for your input! | ||||||||||
