Here's an old thread about portion sizes. http://sbdbb.com/showthread.php?t=54...=serving+sizes There are several glycemic index charts on the web. Do a google search to find one you like to use. Here's a thread on that. About prepared meals. First, the only way you can know exactly what you're putting in your body is to get in the habit of eating fresh, whole foods you've prepared yourself. It can be very hard to find frozen dinners made with whole grains, that are low sugar and contains the right fats. Kraft does make South Beach Diet approved frozen dinners. I've never had one, so I can't attest to their taste. Some people have eaten them. I'd suggest using our search function in the blue bar at the top of the page and type in frozen dinners and see if you find some other threads with those key words in them. Welcome, Bud! Never hesitate to ask more questions. | |||||||||||

| I bought some early on. They are great for te hectic day when you come exhausted and very hungry. Its like a frozen insurance policy to stay on course. Unlike my old cheapy d$1-1.50 dinners there $3 at walmart making me wonder if theyre even costlier in the regular grocery stores. One annoying thing is you have to flip it over to check the phases whether its 1-2-3 or 2-3. So far all have been very tasteful whch always makes me suspicious LOL! | ||||||||||

| Yes, sorry but I do think they're pretty much on the expensive side. I do agree that they're a good insurance to have on hand. But, all the prepared SBD items I've bought have either been on sale or I've had coupons for them. I just can't afford to buy them outright. | |||||||||||

| Good point, I can mention to my coworkers as a Walmart shopper, I dont do the grocery ads but I can let them know. I sometimes hear them say lean cuisine or smartones are on sale a particular store, so I'll let them know to watch out for SB. Folks on SouthBeach deserve a bargain! Meat and produce are costly period. No cheap carb food to balance the reciept like the month's worth of rice for $2 or the spaghetti tof feed a family of 5 for $2. I know - WAH WAH WAH. Im in week 3 and feeling the pinch. | ||||||||||

| Just an FYI. Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones both offer frozen entres for carb conscious people and they aren't too bad plus one or the other is usually on sale somewhere at a reasonable price.
