Question Grams of sugar/day?

Is there a guideline anywhere for how many grams of sugar we can consume in a day? I'm into phase 2 now and I feel like I need some kind of number to guide what I can eat in this phase without hindering my weight loss. Thanks!

as far as i know, there are no set guidelines...every person processes sugar differently...it's all about how your body handles it. It will take awhile to figure out what helps and what hurts...it did for me...but once you figure that out?....your golden.

Anyone else here heard of a recommended daily sugar intake? It's an intresting question.

Nope. since sugars are carbs and we don't count carbs, we don't count sugars either. If you feel like you need to count something, counting calories probably makes more sense than counting one small segment of your food intake. Like most else on this plan, "sugars" are an umbrella term for a variety of different specific types of sugars and some are better for us than others. There is really no need to "fear" lactose and fructose for example. Stalls and plateaus throughout your P2 journey are pretty normal and to be expected. Trying to attribute a stall to any one particular food or food component doesn't make a lot of sense to me. There are just too many variables going on at any point in time to single things like out like "sugar" or limiting to specific grams of "sugar". You could cut back on sugar and still overeat cheese and nuts and still not be making progress. Just my thoughts though... YMMV! (your mileage may vary)
