| Just wondering....I have been on the diet 5 days and doing well. I never get the 2 cups of dairy. A couple days i have had non fat plain yogurt w/ vanilla extract and splenda, but no where near a cup of it. I don't drink wine on the weekdays, but my girlfriends wanted to get together and get a glass of wine. I know that is a no no, but I looked it up and it has less carbs and calories than milk. Would it be ok to substitute a glass of red wine (4oz.) for one of my dairies? Please let me know | ||||||||||

| not really no. you want to drink milk because of the carb content (esp in P1), the calcium, the protein and it's generally healthful properties. wine and all alcohol has essentially no nutritional value at all and just messes directly with your blood sugars. so not a good substitution. if you choose to drink some wine, that's just a personal decision. but it remains an off plan food for P1. there is no good way to rationalize it to be back on plan! | |||||||||||
