Default Shirataki Noodles are GREAT

I've found very few posts about Shirataki Noodles.

And they seem just great for South Beach.

The Shirataki Noodles that I'm using are the Konjac brand. They are are naturally water soluble fiber with no fat, sugar, starch, or protein. And contain zero net carbohydrates and zero calories.

Shirataki comes from the root of an Asian plant. By itself, it's mostly tasteless, but when you add it to a soup dish or Italian recipe, it's works great.

Anyone else use this?

Default Shirataki Noodles

I couldn't find them in local grocery stores, and I live in an area with a LOT of grocery stores -- metro Washington DC.

If you Google "Konjac Shirataki Noodles" the main site should come up -- I think it's the Konjac site -- that's where I bought them directly.

There are other brands of Shirataki Noodles that are made with tofu, but a friend said that those are not as good -- they don't have the zero fat & calorie count.

The other thing that I like about the Shirataki Noodles is that I sometimes feel like I don't get enough food in some meals, but when I add the Shirataki, I get more than enough.

Oh, also, if you order any, don't order the fat noodles. They don't work so well. I'd say, stick with the angel hair, or even better is the rice version -- it mixes and disappears better with the other ingredients in recipes. When I say "rice version," I don't mean that it's made with rice. It's just made to look like rice.
