Transfats and HFCS are not the same thing and not even in the same league as being unhealthy for you. It's no different than regular table sugar and breads need some amount of sugars for the yeast to feed on and cause the dough to rise. Please see my additions to the HFCS sticky thread in this same forum for more info and link to a good article which debunks this "HFCS is evil" kind of paranoid thinking. Yes we should limit sugars in general that are added to foods, but certain products are allowed some amounts of sugars and breads that rise fall into that category. If you want to eliminate all HFCS from your diet, that's great. But at least do so from an informed and rational point of view.

Don't sacrifice flavor for real high fiber. Plus those are sort of frankenfood breads. Do you know that the jury is out on soy flour? There have been articles claiming that it is not as healthy as you think. Soy in it's pure form like soy beans is healthy but once you process the soy, it becomes carcinogenic.

So really, don't go the low carb route. (And I say this having been an Atkineer for years). I'm not bashing low carb, just the low carb bread products.
so glad you said that...i think one reason people may have some difficulty with this is that they treat it as a low carb diet.

remember...we are trying to eat healthy, cut out the bad foods, exercise and in general develop better eating habits.

and yeah, low carb bread is horrible..just horrible...
