| Ginseng (which you can get as tea or as a capsule) has a stimulate effect, a little like caffeine, but milder. Does anyone know if Ginseng is okay in South Beach? *I searched the South Beach Bulletin Board, but there is nothing about it. | |||||||||||

| I don't think there would be a problem with it. | ||||||||||

| RedRox, I've seen stuff that says that caffeine can *maybe* cause somewhat of an insulin release like sugars. I don't know if that can be an issue, or if it's just a small issue or no issue. What's your experience? | |||||||||||

| My experience is that it doesn't really affect me. I drink way more coffee than what is recommended and it doesn't create any hunger pangs for me. Standard caveat is that everyone is different and if it does make you sharply hungrier than normal afterwards (my view of the detrimental effects of an insulin spike and drop), then don't use it. It's not a caloric issue at all. Just a what it does to you afterwards issue. If you take ginseng within a green tea base/delivery system then you are also getting health benefits from the antioxidants in the green tea and it's purported health effects as well. That's my take anyway! | |||||||||||
