| I have read the SB program and done it successfully in the past, but would like an opinion. We all know the 2 two weeks are very stringent on Phase 1 - if a person such as myself can get by with losing 10-12 lbs, is it okay to jump straight to Phase 2? Lately I have not had the discipline to do 2 weeks of Phase 1 because it is very strict and the holidays were upon us or should I do 1 week of Phase 1 and then go into Phase 2? I would appreciate comments/advice from others in a similar situation. Thanks! | ||||||||||

| I recently re-read the book as a refresher and I distinctly remember the doctor saying that someone who only needs to lose 10 or 15 pounds and does not have cravings does not need to do Phase 1. My suggestion would be to start with Phase 2. If you find after having done that for a week or two that you are still having pretty strong cravings, you might want to try to do Phase 1 for just 3-4 days to get rid of those cravings and then go right back to Phase 2. We're all so individual, that it's really sometimes a trial and error thing. Good luck!! | |||||||||||

| Thanks Jilly Bean - I have seen your name a lot on this board and really appreciate your response. That is more or less what I was going to do but hearing from someone so active as yourself with SB is encouraging. Holidays are SO hard plus my BD is coming up. I will be 56. What better gift than to give myself the gift of health! I am bummed because I have been making poor judgments and following suit with work people who eat like garbage disposals.
