Default Nuts!! .. no seriously!

Hi all! At night I get bored. So I watch TV. And when I watch TV I want to snack, so I have been trying to break that by eating WALNUTS of all things!! It takes all that work to open the nut, pick out the bits - that after 7 or 8 of them I say to heck with it and I no longer want to snack!

Good idea!

Wait .. no it's not! Everything I read says :If your weight loss stalls, it might be the nuts: :limit the nuts etc etc:

.. hmm.. wish I had read that a 5 weeks ago when I started this! lol Why are nuts bad? Is it the fat content? (and how much fat can seriously be in one little walnut?) lol

Nuts are healthy for you. Walnuts in particular have the most omega oils of any nut I think. The problem is that they are calorie dense, meaning small amounts contain a lot of calories. So overeating them can add calories quickly and tip you into the wrong side of total calories in vs. total calories out when you are trying to lose weight. If those are all the nuts you eat in a day though it shouldn't be a problem. The food list lists 15 walnuts as a serving which I take to be whole walnuts. Another way of looking at the limit is one ounce or about 1/4 cup. Still better than ice cream and cookies!
