| Hey, fellow SBers! Aside from water, decaf. tea and decaf. coffee, the 2 cups of milk and 6-8 oz. of tomato juice, are there any other beverages we can consume? I am mainly asking because when I went shopping for my new SB food, I purchased quite a bit of WalMart's Sams Choice carbonated water... the wild cherry, kiwi-strawberry, peach, etc. Is this an acceptable beverage for the first phase? ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/south-beach-diet-forums/5619-acceptable-beverages-during-phase-1-a.html Is it acceptable for any phase? I googled my question, and one site mentioned the carbonated water being the equivilant to diet soda, so I'd imagine that's a bad thing. However, when I was on the low-carb diet a few years ago (which failed miserably), I drank quite a bit of the water. (I do not link my failure to the water---my failure is a result of poor food choices, lack of physical exercise, and college... forget freshman 15. I gained the freshman, sophomore, junior 75! YIKES!) Anyway, if anyone has an drink suggestions, please let me know... or if you know whether or not the water is okay, I'd love to hear from you! | ||||||||||

| If it's the stuff that's just 0 cals and 0 sugars it should be fine. I don't even think it has any artificial sweeteners in it. It's just carbonated water and some kind of flavor extract I think. I don't think there is anything non-beachy about diet sodas, but I just personally believe they aren't very good for anyone. Diet colas should be limited to a couple per day apparently, but again I was never real big on the caffeine restrictions unless caffeine happens to make you hungry afterwards. | |||||||||||
