question about cool whip

The sticky message re high fructose corn syrup contains a list of products containing this. In this list is cool whip (3 kinds). Why does SBD endorse using cool whip if it contains high fructose corn syrup?

It's only allowed in very small amounts and just because it is allowed, doesn't mean you have to use it. In the end, you just have to choose what you think is right for your own body. IMO, HFCS is no better or worse for you than standard table sugar. It's not as unhealthy for you in small amounts as let's say transfats are for you. You can shoot a lot of holes in SB if you want to for specific food items he/they include or exclude. The basic principles remain fairy nutritionally sound and you can figure out the details for yourself and what works for you. Personally there are a whole lot of offensive ingredients in SF/FF whipped topping that make HFCS seem like a fairly natural food in comparison. I wouldn't touch the stuff personally, but it's not because of the HFCS it contains.

FWIW, there is no scientific evidence HFCS in foods leads to obesity or any health related issues if it were to be consumed in moderation. If you can't figure out that 128 oz big gulp every day isn't a good idea, then you get what you deserve anyway.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure HFCS is also in the fat free half and half which is also allowed.
