| I decided to keep a record going here of my weight loss and inches off. All the positive things I can create will just help me to continue. My ticker says I've lost 10 (apparently it doesn't do half pounds), but I've really lost 9.5 so far. That's in a month. I've been doing this for 5 weeks now, but I only weigh myself every other week. The scales can be a set-up for me. Every other week seems to be a good way for me to weigh. On the weeks that I don't get on the scale I take my measurements instead. So today it's the off Monday for weighing in. I'm curious, but I will stay off the scales. I've already been drinking this morning so that (at least in my mind) the scales would be off now anyway, so there's no temptation to get on them. I did take my measurements though and I am down (from when I started) 2.5" off my waist, 1" off my hips, 1 3/4" off my thigh, and 1" off my arm. I knew my pants were getting looser!! I've also observed from taking my measurements that I am getting further away from being apple-shaped. I have always been pear-shaped, but the heavier I get, the closer I become to an apple. I wonder if that's true for everybody?? | Great Job Jilly! You are strong willed to stay off the scales!! That is a battle within itself! We all expect to see instant results but forget we didn't get this way "instantly"! With measurements like that you have to be looking forward to next Monday!! Good Luck and keep on truckin!! | ||||||||||

| Congratulations! What an accomplishment~~~especially this time of year. I was at work yesterday and heard someone say they had gained four lbs over the month, another coworker said two. We are so fortunate to have begun this way of eating this time of year. It is like an extra present under the tree to have pounds gone! Seriously, if I were sitting around a christmas tree and had my pick of gifts---and there were new clothes, fragrances, home decor items, whatever, and one gift that said "minus 10 lbs." I've held steady here for over two weeks and I'm anticipating my next drop! I'm having a much easier time these days with reduced appetite and reduced cravings. But aren't there SO many tempting situations?? please keep posting what is working for you---as far as food choices etc. Every tip helps! I'm making myself keep up with protein at breakfast. I can be a little egged out at times. But i know if i go to work with two poached eggs in my belly--i'm' having an easier time saying no to the crumb cake and donuts in the break room. aaaaaccccccccckkkkkkkk! please someone quit bringing sweets! | |||||||||||

We just have to stick together! :Hug1: I remind myself each day (coming here helps me to do that) of what that stuff does to me. It is poison to me -- at least for now while I am in such a vulnerable state. Maybe I'll be strong enough someday for a bite or two, but not today!! | |||||||||||

| Okay, I have been noticing that my pants are getting too big around the waist. I have a closet with a variety of sizes (don't/didn't we all?), so I pulled out a couple pair of smaller ones and (DRUM ROLL, PLEASE!!!) they fit!! YES! | |||||||||||

| That is just awexome jilly! I think having the scale move down is a plus but the real difference is fitting into a smaller size and whatever you are doing it's working. | |||||||||||
