| So I just finished 2 weeks on phase 1 and the scale maybe went down 2 lbs. I think TOM really screwed things up because I was doing great until that came and I never recovered from it. I have followed the good foods well, but I am getting sick of eggs. I think I am going to stay on phase 1 2 more weeks longer and see what I can lose w/out TOM getting in my way. It has been hard reading success stories and not having one of my own to share. My clothes don't even feel looser and measurements haven't really changed. THanks for reading! I love the encouragement from these boards-its what keeps me going! denisek | ||||||||||

| First of all, :Sympathy: I can just imagine how you feel. I have to say that phase one isn't really a weight loss only phase. It's main objective is to rid yourself of your cravings for sugar and other carbs and to stabilize your blood sugar. The majority of your weight loss is going to happen during phase two of the program. ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/success-stories/619-little-success-phase-one.html If you have a substantial amount of weight to lose you can stay on phase one for another 2 weeks, but not for longer after that. You're missing out on a lot of nutrients that the body needs for proper health and function. Supplements and vitamins just don't do the job that real food does. Would you consider starting a journal and entering your daily menus for a while so that we could stop in and critique them for you? Perhaps we can figure something out together. I'd really like to see you have success on the Beach! | |||||||||||

| Hey denisek! I know it stinks when the scale does not tell us what we want...but...just think...you are more concious of what you are eating....you are making healthier choices...and...if you keep this up (plus add in some exercise)...you will be a bigger loser... Don't give up...weightloss takes time... You can do it! WE | |||||||||||

| Hang in there, Denise! I, of all people, get how discouraging that can be. But if you're not having cravings you have been successful with Phase 1. Believe me, if you're doing everything right, you'll loose what you need to!!! It works!! :Hug1: | ||||||||||

| After reading everything over and thinking about it and freaking out a little I have decided to move on to phase 2. I have been on phase 1 now for almost 3 weeks and have only lost about 2 lbs. Not encouraging but the reading I have been doing has helped me realize that the less weight you ave to lose the slower you will lose it. I only want to lose 10-15 lbs. So on to phase 2 tomorrow. Yesterday I brought home 2 big tubs of frozen cookie dough from my son's little league fundraiser. I bought it almost 2 months ago when I had no idea I would be making this change in my diet. Well, I did really good last night and today until just about an hour ago -started eating the frozen cookie dough-2 cookies to be exact-I stopped myself and logged in right away before I really hated myself. It was total emotional eating because it has been one of the roller coaster kind of emotional days with the big ups and the big downs. BTW, the cookies were soooo good. Chocolate and gooey, caramel, nuts....;0) Going on, I exercise like a dog most of the times and even though I can feel a bit of improvement in my muscles no change in how my clothes fit, etc. What's up with that. Thank you guys for being here. If I didn't have someone to vent to I would have eaten the whole tub of cookies and hated myself forever. ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/showthread.php?t=619 Phase 2 here I come! | ||||||||||

| Oh Denise you have my sympathy,:Sympathy: but you are right, the less you have to lose, the longer it takes. I've been battling my last 8-10 pounds for longer than i remember. I've only started this woe just over a month ago, and like you i haven't seen the scale move, but I do feel much better, and i'm very optomistic the weight loss will kick in! Don't give up yet..keep going and i'm sure you'll see results. | ||||||||||
