| Hi everyone. I'm coming from Atkins and I have a question. From the research I've read, eating less carbs is a good way to be more healthy and lose weight. SB is about eating the right carbs, but I still want to keep my carbs low so I continue to lose at a good pace. I'm trying to find the right balance, problem is I know I'm not eating enough because I cut as many carbs as I can, and eat only good fat, which pretty much leaves me with lots of snow peas all day lol. Does any know "about" how many carbs are we suppose to eat a day with SB? I'm trying to do SB(good carbs and fats) with an Atkins(low carb) mind set.

| 'not sure that approach really works. I\'d pick one or the other or you really aren\'t doing either. There really are no set range of \"carbs\" on SB. you just use the food lists and menu templates to organize your days worth of eating. I can easily construct a P1 menu that is in the 70-90 total carbs range and a P2 menu that is 130 - 150+. I only tracked it a couple times out of curiosity and I seemed to be in the 135 range in P2/P3. Net or effective carbs are a meaningless term for SB\'ers so I have no idea what those would be for comparison.' | ||||||||||

| Unfortunately SouthBeach has the stigma of being "Low Carb" but it isn't. It is good carbs and you can eat lots of carbs each day and be on program. You can't compare or try to incorporate low carb plans into Southbeach, they are two entirely different plans. ![]() | ||||||||||
