| Since the South Beach Diet is not low carb or low fat, you will eventually come out of Ketosis if you have come to this diet from a low carb diet. South Beach is not designed to work through ketosis so you will experience hunger pangs if you wait too long to eat between meals. But you will not go hungry on this diet. There is a huge difference between the two. On South Beach, Phase one and to begin on Phase two it is requqired that you eat snacks between your meals. So between breakfast and lunch, you will snack. Between lunch and dinner, you will snack and after dinner you will snack again. The reason for this is to keep your blood sugar levels stable throughout the day. So your next meal is never too far away. I notice just about the time my belly starts telling me it wants me to think about food, that it is my snack time. I eat my snack and I'm happy and so is my belly! Once you climb the ladder in Phase two and add in more foods you will find you will not want to snack so much. On Phase 3 snacks are entirely optional. So you can throw away your keto sticks. You will know if you are losing weight because your scale and your clothes will tell you that you are. And you will not be requiring your body to do anything unique to stay this way. Calories in and calories out work real well here. | ||||||||||
