No it's not a SB thing. Acutally HFCS is "compared" to transfats because of how the body digests it. My apologies for it sounding misleading in my text. Sometimes I bang out these emails so fast (in between doing a million other things) so I didn't catch how it was coming out. But don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. HFCS is still a bad for you product and will contribute to weight gain or worse!

OK, I went back in and edited my initial post. I think it reads better now, don't you? Still the same outcome!!

Oh no, I know its horrible stuff! You just made me curious because you have stated a couple of different times that it is a trans fat. I avoid it like the plague anyway, the stuff is poison! I was just curious.

I LOVE your curiosity!! And I' m glad you mentioned this because the "way" I was saying it was misleading. So I corrected the first post to better reflect what I meant. I think it's a personal mental block with me because since the first place I read it lumped it into the same bad for you category as trans fats because it acts like one in your body, so that is how my mind processes it.

Thanks for your help with this Moggies:Hug2:

Know what else is scary about this? Current labeling laws are finally enforcing that Trans fats be listed in the nutritional breakdown, but HFCS's dog day has not come yet and it is in so many products. So consumers are buying products with no trans fats in them but HFCS and think they are buying a healthy product!

I know we can't live in a glass bubble, but it sure is hard to eat healthy isn't it? And it's not the diet plans out there in our way but the food industry!
To be fair to the industry though, it is very expensive to make foods and feed people at prices they can afford, so unfortunately the food industry has to find ways to stretch their products to keep it affordable, but we all lose when they choose products that could harm us!

Someone has to steer them in the right direction.

I'm bummed. I was making chicken stir fry and I noticed that my terriyaki sauce has HFCS in it. Oh well, I guess I'll keep using it until it's gone. I've probably been eating that man made horror food for years and didn't even know that it was a bad thing. Well, I'm not using much of it.

Thanks for all the info you're posting in this forum, Mindy. Perhaps it will convince some people to finally make the switch. At least the information will be out there for them to look at.

Is that the Steel's Gourmet sauce or another brand? I'm thinking of getting the Steele's sauce and thought it didn't have any HFCS in it.

Thanks Luv2! That's what I'm shooting for! The rest is up to the individual. No one can tell anyone else what's best for them, so if this info makes them decide this plan may be best, that's great. Super, even. Or if they decide to stay on the plan they are on, then that is the best decision for them. We are not the judges, only the provider of good information!!!:sun:
