Angry Bummed about weight loss

So, I faithfully followed Phase I for 2 full weeks. Stepped on the scale this morning and bummed that I only lost 3lbs in 2 weeks. I wonder if I am doing something wrong? Should I stay on Phase I for a little while longer? Good news, I feel soooooooo much better!
Comments would be helpful! Thank you

2 weeks is only 14 days....3 lbs. is 3 pounds my friend! ... good stuff if you ask me, but since your not happy with these results...let's see what we can find...

How often do you eat? Every 3 hours?

Did you exercise at all? If not, these are great results! If you worked out, there may be some issues with your diet...Maybe if you share a typical day's menu plan with us, we can find something your missing?...and don't forget....(if your a female...lol) the monthly visitor can make or break you by about 5 lbs. if you ask me...
????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/weekly-weigh-waist/2002-bummed-about-weight-loss.html

keep the faith, and remember...3 lbs. is 3 lbs!....you lose weight 1 pound at a time my friend!....it's when they add up that really counts...

if you want to stick to phase 1 for another week or so, you should be okay...are you taking daily multivitimans?...and please, share a menu plan...see if we can find something that's causing a problem..

..cause after 120 lbs. lost, I know it works by golly!!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I would love to share a typical day for me...and no I have not started working out yet, too overwhelming to start SBD and exercise at the same time. But I planned to start slowly on the treadmill this week. And no monthly visitor for me!
Let me know what you think or if I need to "tweak" this:
B: 2eggs scrambled, V8 juice, coffee with splenda and FF half and half
S:Cheese stick,veggies
L:Chicken, salad and EVOO and vinegar dressing
SF Jello with SFFF Cool whip
S: Low carb/sugar yogurt with a few nuts
D: Some sort of meat, salad, cooked veggie
S: Either SF Pudding with SFFF cool whip or SF jello with cottage cheese and SFFF cool whip
Drink lots of water and ice tea
Thank you!

well your menu looks simply perfect...not much there to pick apart.

No exercise at all and you've lost 3 lbs....wow....you don't think that is simply spectactular???? I do! That's AWESOME!!! Think about it....to simply change that way you eat for 14 days and lose weight???!!!! With NO exercise!!!???....wow....I tell you, I work my butt off at the gym EVERY DAY and average about 1-2 lbs. per week....so don't be so hard on yourself! Your making great strides!

Try phase 1 for an extra week if you want...I personally did it for 3 weeks both times I started....Even now, I eat mostly a phase 1 menu plan through the week, (with a few phase 2 days thrown in here and there)...then enjoy a full phase 2 menu over the weekend....and back to square one on Monday....works petty good for me...and keeps cravings at bay too!

Your doing simply wonderful...you keep on doing what your doing and you'll see results very soon....I can feel it!!!

yes, I think I do dairy fairly well...I usually have yogurt for my am snack, and LF cottage cheese sometime during the day...and i don't usually write it down, cause it's on a whim, but when I get the 'I need something extra's' at night, I chug a nice glass of skim milk sometimes....heck, usually every night now that I think about it....but it helps take the late night hunger's off I guess...lol...I should probably get more, but that's about it since cheese is a protein on this diet...but I do get my share of that too if it means anything...I do take a calcium pill every morning along with a multivitiman & fish oil pill. Can never be too sure!

They say that yogurt does help with losing belly fat...not sure where I read it, but it's been working for me...I eat it about every day now that I think about it.

weight loss is neither linear, predictable nor comparable. and always celebrate your successes!! there is no "typical" weight loss for P1. the 8-13 lbs on the book cover is marketing. it was for obese, sedentary cardiac patients of Dr. A who went on this program for their heart conditions. it just turned into a weight loss thing later because it sells books! it was also never designed to be a quick weight loss program. it is a lifestyle change program that happens over time. that means you have to actually give it time! like months, not days or weeks. but learn to make good healthy food choices one day at a time and eventually those turn into weeks and months and years. it's a process. give it time.
????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/showthread.php?t=2002

also on the menu: avoid low sugar/low carb yogurts in all phases. you want the good carbs in yogurts and dairy. they are lower GI sugars. only plain fat free or low fat yogurt is allowed in P1. no flavored yogurts at all and yes, vanilla is a flavor! you can add SF syrups, SF jello powders, extracts, etc. to the plain yogurt to spice it up a bit, but you really need to start with the plain yogurt as your base. you can add certain types of flavored yogurts in P2, but in smaller quantities (6 oz) and you still should avoid the "carb control" type products. Also the SF pudding is a P2 item as well because of the added starches to thicken it. the SF jellos are fine though.

good luck!

Thank you for the great information. I finished with Phase I on Monday and have decided to move on to Phase II. I added an apple and small sweet potato today. Maybe staying away from the pudding and the yogurt will help the pounds slip away. I appreciate the information and will continue to celebrate the losses over the months, not days!
